Standards play an important role in the quality and delivery of services to consumers. They often define the characteristics of a product or service, as well as the ways to measure or test them.
Consumer protection associations aim to influence the improvement of the quality of products and services, so that they achieve higher levels of:
• Quality and reliability;
• Safety and health protection;
• Compatibility between products;
• Continuity in the provision of services;
• Greater opportunities for choosing goods and services.
The General Directorate of Standardization (DPS) comes to the aid of consumers through the SSH standard ISO 22003-2:2022 “Food safety – Part 2: Requirements for bodies providing assessment and certification of products, processes and services, including food safety system auditing”.
This standard specifies the applicable rules for auditing a Food Safety System and for certifying products, processes and services that comply with the requirements of the certification program.
