The General Directorate of Standardization (DPS), knowing the importance of the application and implementation of the SSH EN ISO 9001 standard, and wanting to promote the implementation of standards in general, decided to apply this standard in 2004.
The work on the application (establishment of the management system and its implementation) continued for several months. In March 2005, DPS received the ISO 9001:2000 Certificate from the Italian certification body CSQ i IMQ which is also a member of IQNet – the International Quality Network, which confirmed and documented that DPS has established a quality management system and that this system is functional in accordance with the requirements of the SSH EN ISO 9001:2000 standard.
During 2009 and onwards, work has been carried out to implement the SSH EN ISO 9001:2008 standard in the DPS Quality Management System. For this, all procedures and documentation of the QMS were reviewed. In June 2010, the Italian organization CSQ, carried out the certification of the QMS of DPS according to 9001:2008 and found it without non-conformities.
During 2017-2018, work was done to implement the requirements of the SSH EN ISO 9001:2015 standard, in the Quality Management System of DPS. For this, all procedures and documentation of the QMS were reviewed and in March 2018, the ICDQ Company, carried out the certification of the QMS of DPS according to SSH EN ISO 9001:2015 and found it without non-conformities.
Currently, DPS is certified with the SSH EN ISO 9001:2015 standard and in February of this year (2022) DPS was audited by the CCI Company, re-certifying it.
The documents related to this system are the Quality Manual, which clearly presents the quality policy and objectives. The following documents are also available as shown in the pyramid below:
But what has DPS benefited from the quality management system?
This system refers to what DPS does to manage its processes and activities so that DPS products and services meet the objectives set in terms of:
Implementing legislation and regulations in the field of standardization;
Fulfilling the conditions to become full members of CEN&CENELEC;
How do we achieve this?
By preparing procedures for each process of the entire standardization activity, making sure that each employee knows exactly what to do, how, when and where.
Through (the “Plan – Do – Check – Act” cycle) which is one of the famous principles of ISO standards for management systems.
Planning – setting objectives and preparing plans to achieve them.
Do – implementing plans.
Check – measuring the results achieved and recording/recording them.
Act – based on the measurement of results, concrete actions are taken to correct and improve the work, and appropriate records are kept to learn from mistakes and not repeat them.
