Scope

This ETS sets out the minimum performance requirements and technical characteristics for float-free satellite Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRB), operating in the COSPAS-SARSAT satellite system, concerning radio communications for the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS). The equipment covered by this ETS operates on 406 MHz which is provided with a low power 121,5 MHz homing device.
