Meeting of the Steering Board of the General Directorate of Standardization (DPS)
The Board of Directors (BD) of the General Directorate of Standardization (GDS) held its meeting on December 17, 2024. The meeting was held at the GDS offices.
The attendance was sufficient (the necessary quorum, based on the VKM 433/2010 “On the establishment, composition, mode of function and competences of the Board of Directors of the General Directorate of Standardization”).
The agenda, among others, contained:
Implementation of the tasks and Work Plan of the GDS for the year 2024
Discussion and opinions/proposals of the Board on the progress for the following year;
Progress made by the GDS regarding full membership in the two European Standardization Organizations CEN and CENELEC.
DPS was congratulated by the Board for the work done regarding the adoption of standards, promotions and information, as well as for the implementation of the tasks and recommendations left by the audit, regarding the membership of DPS with full rights in CEN&CENELEC.
The meeting requested more cooperation between DPS and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Albanian Consumer Association, but also with academia regarding DPS publications. Also, a more rigorous cooperation of DPS with members of DPS Technical Committees was discussed, so that information on standards is distributed as widely as possible to interest groups.
