Scope

This document specifies the minimum requirements and test methods for Areca catechu seed.
This document applies to Areca catechu seed that is sold and used as natural medicines in international trade, including Chinese materia medica (whole medicinal materials) and decoction pieces derived from this plant.
This document does not apply to processed decoction pieces of Areca catechu seed.
