ThepresentdocumentspecifiesasignallingprotocolforthepurposeofcallcontrolattheQB,SB,TB,andco-incident SB/TB referencepointswithin,between,andattheaccesstoBroadbandPrivateIntegratedServicesNetworksand within,between,andattheaccesstoEuropeanBroadbandIntegratedServicesDigitalNetworks.Theprotocoloperates betweentwoadjacentcallcontrolentities.Theprotocolisapplicabletoaterminalornetworknodeinaseparatedcall andbearer(connection)controlenvironmentforthesupportofcallshavingnone,asinglebearerormultiplebearers. Theprotocolisapplicabletoatwo-partycall.Theprotocolalsoprovidesforwardcompatibilitytotheextentthatan implementationcanalsooperatewithinamulti-partycallwithotherimplementationsthatuseadditionalcapabilities, providedtheimplementationisdeployedwhereitdoesnotneedtobeawareofmorethantwoparties.
