Harmonized EN for Global System for Mobile communications (GSM); Base Station and Repeater equipment covering essential requirements under article 3.2 of the R&TTE directive (GSM 13.21 version 7.0.1 Release 1998)

Scope

The present document specifies minimum technical performance requirements for the following radio equipment type:
1 GSM Base Station System.
2 GSM Repeater equipment
This radio equipment type is for operation within the Digital cellular telecommunications system in the GSM 900 and/or
DCS 1800 frequency bands as shown in table 1.

with a channel separation of 200 kHz, utilising constant envelope modulation and carrying traffic channels according to
the Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) principle.
The present document is intended to cover the provisions of:
- Article 3.2, which states that "... radio equipment shall be so constructed that it effectively uses the spectrum
allocated to terrestrial/space radio communications and orbital resources so as to avoid harmful interference",
of Directive 1999/5/EC (R&TTE Directive) [1].
In addition to the present document, other ENs that specify technical requirements in respect of essential requirements
under other parts of Article 3 of the R&TTE Directive [1] may apply to equipment within the scope of the present
document.
