Carbonation and CO2-uptake in concrete

Scope

The purpose and scope of this CEN/TR is to give background information and to deepen and explain the Annex BB on CO2-uptake by carbonation – Requirements and guidance on calculation, presented in the standard EN 16757 – Product Category Rules for concrete and concrete elements.
This TR is also providing typical CO2 uptake for different structures. It thereby makes it possible to present EPD:s for the whole life cycle for one m3 of concrete, without detailed knowledge of the structure to be built. In most cases only the concrete quality and if the concrete will be used for civil engineering or house building purpose is known, which is un-sufficient for specific calculation of CO2-uptake according to clause BB3 of the Annex BB in EN 16757.
