Scope

This document specifies test methods for the determination of the Vickers hardness and Knoop hardness of advanced ceramics at elevated temperature.
This document is applicable to monolithic ceramics and whisker- or particulate-reinforced ceramics that are regarded as macroscopically homogeneous. This document is also applicable to ceramic coatings.
