Scope

IEC/IEEE 62582-5:2026 contains methods for condition monitoring of optical fibres and cables in instrumentation and control systems using optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR) measurements in the detail necessary to produce accurate and reproducible results. It includes requirements for the measurement system, conditions, and reporting of measured results.
