Scope

Part 4 of EN 726 specifies the application independent card related characteristics of card terminals able to process cards complying with part 3 ofEN 726. All common characteristics which are necessary for a standardized card use in the terminals are defined. This part of the standard does not preclude letting terminals accept and process cards complying with other standards.
