Scope

This European standard defines a destructive method of assessing the case hardening of a piece of timber with reference to the distorsion measured in a slice taken from the piece. This standard applies to sawn timber and timber which has been planed or surfaced by other means. It applies to both hardwood and softwood with a thickness not greater than 100 mm.
