The Board of Directors (BD) of the General Directorate of Standardization (GDS) held its first meeting on March 31, 2026.
The attendance was sufficient (the necessary quorum, based on VKM 433/2010 “On the establishment, composition, manner of function and competencies of the Board of Directors of the General Directorate of Standardization”).
The agenda, among others, contained:
• Approval and implementation of the meeting Agenda
• Approval of the GDS Work Plan for 2026
• Approval in principle of a cooperation agreement between the two institutions GDS and AIDA for the promotion and awareness of the role and importance of standards in the products and services offered by businesses.
• Approved the conclusion of a cooperation agreement between GDS and the Tirana Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Also, a more rigorous cooperation of DPS with the members of the DPS Technical Committees was discussed, so that information on the standards is distributed as widely as possible to interest groups.
For the next meeting of the Board of Directors, the date will be communicated between the General Director and the Chairman of the Board of Directors and will subsequently be communicated to the other members of the Board for approval.
