The Directorate General for Standardization (DG) participated in the proceedings of the General Assembly organized by two of the most important European standardization organizations - CEN (European Committee for Standardization) and CENELEC (European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization), which took place on 17-19 June 2026.
This high-level event brought together representatives from the national standardization organizations of the member countries and those in the accession process, such as DG, providing an important platform for strategic discussions on current challenges and priorities in the field of European standardization. The main topics addressed include the digital transformation of standardization processes, the inclusion of green policies in standards, as well as strengthening cooperation between member countries and full membership in these two European organizations.
DG's participation in this Assembly constitutes an important step in the framework of the process for full membership in CEN and CENELEC. Representatives of the institution actively participated in the plenary sessions and thematic discussions, presenting the progress achieved by Albania in accordance with the established criteria of these organizations.
