DPS has published the standard SSH EN IEC 60335-2-25:2021 ‘‘Household and similar electrical appliances - Safety - Part 2-25: Particular requirements for microwave ovens, including microwave combination ovens’’

Standard for the safety of microwave ovens for household and similar use. Their rated voltage should not exceed 250 V. It is also used in microwave combination ovens intended for use on board ships. This standard specifies the common hazards that appliances present that all persons encounter in household and similar environments. However, the standard does not take into account the hazards when:

- If children play with the appliances;
- If the appliances are used by young children;
- If the appliances are used by young children without adult supervision
