The Technical Board (TB) of the General Directorate of Standardization (GDS) approves the Work Program for the adoption of standards and changes in the Technical Committees (TCs), for the year 2026

On February 6, 2026, at 11:00, the meeting of the Technical Board of the DPS was held. Participation in the meeting was on the online platform where the majority of the members present expressed their confirmation and approval of the annual work program for the adoption of standards and changes in the Technical Committees of the DPS.                          

The members of the BT reviewed the materials sent in advance by e-mail; Lists of standards proposed for adoption during 2026 and Changes in the Technical Committees (TCs) of the DPS, which will function during this period, according to the order of the meeting program.

The Director of the Directorate of Standards, Mr. Gentian Gjyrezi, cited that during this time, a relatively large amount of work has been carried out by the Directorate of Standards for the adoption of standards mainly for the year 2025 as well as for the repeal of Albanian cigar standards according to the relevant Technical Committees which have been replaced with European or international standards, emphasizing that there are about 200 Albanian cigar standards that have been repealed. Also, the General Director, Mr. Riza Hasanaj, emphasized that the work for the repeal of Albanian cigar standards is a process that will be ongoing by the Secretaries and Technical Committees of the DPS.

The Technical Committees that had changes, in terms of new memberships, were in the field of Electrical and Electronic Materials and Equipment, Technical Safety and Environment, Metrology and Measurements, Measuring Equipment, Textiles, Vegetable Oils and Fats and Petroleum Products, DPS/KT 3 “Electrical and Electronic Materials, DPS/KT 4 “Electrical and Electronic Equipment”, DPS/KT 6 “Technical Safety and Environment”, DPS/KT 8 “Measuring Equipment. Testing and Measurement Techniques”, DPS/KT 12 “Metrology and Measurements”, DPS/KT 19 “Petroleum Products, Lubricants, Coal and Related Products”, DPS/KT 248 “Textiles and Textile Products” and DPS/KT 307 “Edible Oils and Fats. Oilseeds”.

In this meeting, the Technical Board approved:

            The next meeting of the Technical Board, for additions to the Lists of standards for adoption and the review of requests for participation in the TC, will be held in the last week of June 2026.
