How standards protect consumers

Standards play a very important role in protecting consumers. They directly affect the quality of the goods and services we use every day, by determining how products should be and how their safety is controlled.

Through standards, the aim is for products and services to be:

• higher quality and more reliable;
• safe for consumer health;
• suitable for use with other products;
• offered in a sustainable and continuous manner;
• with more choice for consumers.

DPS helps consumers by implementing the SSH ISO 22003-2:2022 standard, which is related to food safety. This standard sets out the rules for the assessment, control and certification of food products, processes and services.

Through this standard, it is ensured that food safety systems are carefully controlled and that food products are safe for consumers.
