Scope

This International Standard defines terms and establishes classifications, characteristics and marking requirements for ceramic tiles of the best commercial quality (first quality).
NOTE ISO 10545 describes the test procedures required to determine the product characteristics listed in ISO 13006. ISO 10545 is divided into parts each describing a specific test procedure or related matter.
This European Standard defines and gives terms, requirements and marking criteria for ceramic tiles (produced by extrusion and dust pressing techniques) of the first commercial quality.

Tiles not of first commercial quality are also covered following the provisions of annex Q.
This European Standard does not cover tiles made by other than the normal commercial processes of extrusion or dry pressing (see 3.7).
