Scope

This document specifies a method for the quantitative determination of the content of calcium (Ca), copper (Cu), iron (Fe), magnesium (Mg), manganese (Mn), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), sodium ( Na) and zinc (Zn) by high frequency induced plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). The method is applicable to milk, milk powder, butter, cheese, whey, whey powder, infant formulas and adult nutritional products within the ranges given in Table 1.
